The cutting edge fan technology behind the MegaFan product combines the laws of physics with NASA inspired airfoil blade designs to achieve optimum energy efficiencies

Invented by MacroAir Technologies LLC in the USA, the cutting edge fan technology behind the MegaFan product combines the laws of physics with NASA inspired airfoil blade designs to achieve optimum energy efficiencies whilst moving large volumes of air with very little air turbulence.

With the MegaFan a gentle non-disruptive breeze is consistently generated to deliver a pleasing and comfortable environment.

The MegaFan can be used in place of HVAC equipment in many cases and the MegaFan technology is referred to as 'High Volume Low Speed' (HVLS) fan systems.

This technology uses the concept of highly efficient extended airfoil blades that circulate a large column of air at just the right speed required to optimize the "cooling effect".

The specially designed airfoil blade is quiet and extremely efficient it produces minimal air disruption directly below the fan.

It is very effective in large commercial and industrial facilities where employee comfort is the primary goal.

The MegaFan can help cool, de-stratify layered air, warm whilst saving energy by better control of a building's temperature profile.

The MegaFan system comprises 6 or 10 blades with a fan diameter from 8 to 24 feet, a 0.75kW or 1.5kW motor and gearbox plus the variable speed drive mounted in an enclosure.

Our experienced engineers are able to install and commission the system to your requirements.

Because of the large diameter of an HVLS MegaFan and the resultant column of air size these fans produce a unique and effective deep wall of horizontal moving air.

This is called a horizontal floor jet.

A floor jet is relative to a fans diameter and to a lesser degree the speed the fan is turning.

Once the floor jet reaches it potential it migrates outward and radiantly until it meets a side wall or other large barrier; there it continues to entrain and circulate.

This is what makes HVLS fans so effective.

Small high speed fans regardless of their number cannot produce a similar floor jet of moving air.

For example an 8 ft fan would produce a floor jet of air approximately 1 metre deep.

A 24 ft fan would produce a floor jet of air 2.8 metres deep.

MegaFans require very little maintenance.

Both the motor and the gearbox (which is lubricated for life) have a 3 year.

And all other components have a lifetime warranty.

Applications in industry comprise the following: Cool Machinery; Dry wet floors and control moisture, mould, bacteria and condensation; Creates a constant floor to ceiling temperature with low speed high volume air changes; Provides comprehensive air coverage and drastically improves areas with hot, cold, stale and stagnant air; Promotes cost savings by leveraging HVAC systems, enhancing ventilation systems and reducing the overall energy costs within a large space; Dilutes concentrated air.
