USA drive manufacturer AC Technology has achieved the first major objective in its ambitious UK growth strategy by entering into an agreement with Exico for the distribution of the AC Technology range of inverters throughout the UK AC Technology Corporation is one of the leading manufacturers of drives to the giant US market

The company's Director of International Sales and Marketing is Keith Ryan.

"We are delighted to have found a UK distributor that has such a breadth of knowledge of the market, an established customer base that is growing and the ability to supply complete engineered drive packages", he said.

"Finding quality distributors in such a competitive and tight market is no easy task.

However, its even harder to find outlets that will actively sell your products in the way that Exico will".

Exico Ltd has more than 50 years experience in the UK power transmission market.

Founded in 1946, the company has grown consistently year- on- year to become one of the major suppliers of quality industrial electric motors, gearboxes, inverters, pumps and ancillary equipment to the UK market.

With its main warehousing facility in Wellingborough the company offers the advantage of being centrally located.

In addition, customers benefit in operational terms from Exico's certification to the Quality Standard BS EN 1S0.9002: 1994, issued by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance.

Exico believes that AC Technology's range of small inverters provides the ideal platform for the company to achieve further growth within key industrial and process sectors.

Jerry Hodek, is Exico's General Manager.

Commenting upon the distribution agreement, he said: 'Many of our customers and sub-distributors have been asking us for an AC inverter drive range that was simple to use and very competitively priced.

I believe that the AC Tech drives will meet this requirement.

The drives are a central element which, together with our ability to offer complete motor, gear reducer and drive packages, give us a winning formula for success." The vehicles for Exico's growth in the UK market are AC Technology's SCF and SCN sub-micro ranges of drives.

The SCF range extends to 18.5kW and is suitable for supplies of 208/240V (single and three phase) and 400/480V 3phase and 480/590Volt 3phase.

This makes the range possibly the widest of the sub-micro drives available on the market today.

What's more, the drives are extremely easy to use.

The SCN series has an even smaller footprint.

It covers powers up to 2.2kW and is priced and packaged to break through the cost and complexity barrier that has kept companies from employing all the advantages of variable frequency inverter drives.

Where, previously a DC or mechanical variable speed solution has been used the SCN offers the opportunity to use an AC variable speed drive and standard motor package.

The last word on the new agreement belongs to Keith Ryan.

"The appointment of a front line distributor like Exico is a clear signal to the market of our intentions", he commented.

"It is, however, just the first element in our distribution strategy.

We are also in discussions with suitably qualified companies to distribute our products in the North of England, Wales, Scotland and the Irish Republic. Request a free brochure from Lenze-ACTech ...
