AC Technology has teamed up with HVAC specialist, Heat and Combustion Supplies to increase market penetration and establish the second strong distribution channel for their range of inverters in the UK The agreement represents the next step in AC Tech's ambitious strategy for growth in the UK market by providing ex-stock supply and a high level of technical knowledge covering Wales and the southwest of England
AC Technology Corporation is one of the leading manufacturers of drives to the huge US market.
The company's Director of International Sales and Marketing is Keith Ryan.
"Combined Heat and Combustion have successfully supplied AC Technology drives to the HVAC market for three years now, their knowledge of the product and it's application make them an ideal choice for us to build on our relationship and expand into the general industrial market".
For over a decade, Heat and Combustion Supplies Ltd, based in Cardiff specialised in the supply of control equipment packages for use in Building Management Systems.
During the mid 90s they recognised a sharp increase in demand for drives as the integrators whom they were supplying became more focused on energy savings issues.
With a ready market, Keith Morris, the owner of Heat and Combustion Supplies, made a global search for a suitable supplier and selected AC Technology Corporation of the USA for their highly competitive range of drives.
Commenting on the expansion of the relationship into a front-line distributorship, Keith Morris sees clear benefits for the general industrial customer, "With the planned introduction of the Climate Control Levy, the industrial sector has started to get serious about the issue of energy saving and one of the main areas where savings can be made is in the control of fan and pump motors.
The experience that Heat and Combustion has gained in the HVAC market will be of immense value to our industrial customers and we are confident that the move will be a success".
The vehicles for Heat and Combustion's growth in the UK market are AC Technology's SCF and SCN sub-micro ranges of drives and the MC series of micro drives.
The SCF range extends to 18.5kW and is suitable for supplies of 208/240V (single and three phase) and 400/480V 3phase and 480/590Volt 3phase.
This makes the range possibly the widest of the sub-micro drives available on the market today.
What's more, the drives are extremely easy to use.
The SCN series has an even smaller footprint.
It covers powers up to 2.2kW and is priced and packaged to break through the cost and complexity barrier that has kept companies from employing all the advantages of variable frequency inverter drives.
Where, previously a DC or mechanical variable speed solution has been used the SCN offers the opportunity to use an AC variable speed drive and standard motor package.
The MC series is a range of IP.21 protected, wall mounting drives covering 1phase and 3phase outputs up to 44kW.
Heat and Combustion state that these drives are especially suitable for the HVAC market.
The last word on the new agreement belongs to Keith Ryan.
"Heat and Combustion join Exico, our distributor for the Midlands and South, representing the second stage of our plan for complete geographical coverage, offering ex-stock product supply and experienced technical support across the UK and Ireland".
