US drives manufacturer AC Technology has appointed Bradford based Applelec as a new distributor, making its high-functionality low-cost drives readily available in the North of England.

US drives manufacturer AC Technology has appointed Bradford based Applelec as a new distributor, making its high-functionality low-cost drives readily available to companies in the North of England.

Applelec provides a sales, replacement; repair and warranty fulfilment service for AC Tech drives as well as designing and installing complete systems.

The agreement with AC Tech has helped Applelec to provide customers in process, handling and packaging industries with optimised drive systems at competitive prices, while further improving their after sales service.

Martin West, Managing Director of Applelec explained that: "The distributorship has enabled us to design and supply systems that incorporate drive units at very competitive prices, due to the fact that customers are not paying for excess features.

AC Technology provides reliable and simple to use drives with high levels of functionality, often making them the best option in design solutions as well as retrofitting applications".

"Stocking AC Tech's SC Series of sub-micro drives has also enabled us to improve our overall service.

Drive settings and parameters can be programmed onto a unique EPM chip then kept on file, allowing Applelec to quickly supply replacement components and systems that are ready tailored to a customers application".

Traditionally Applelec has installed low-cost AC drives as a fit and forget option for general heating and ventilation applications.

However, we have found that the increased functionality of the AC Tech drives has allowed the company to fit the units on much more complex applications such as printing machines that have similarly demanding work cycles as well as multispeed demand steps and the ability to high speed dynamic brake large inertias.

Applelec has a wealth of knowledge in variable speed drives and drive related software, and all work is carried out by qualified technicians who have benefited from apprenticed training programs.

Systems purchased from Applelec come with a twelve-month warranty, full CAD drawings and a complete set of technical manuals.
