Advanced Carbide Tooling is offering users of Metal Masters face milling cutters free-of-charge a new type of insert clamping screw and T-bar driver for securing the patented Frustum inserts.

The left-hand thread screw and 3mm hexagonal driver have been specially designed so that the inserts are clamped more securely than was possible with the Torx-20 screwdriver supplied in the past, according to ACT.

The Frustum double-sided inserts used with the Metal Masters system are indexable to provide up to 24 cutting edges.

They have a 12-sided location on a nitride-hardened tool cutter seat.

The inserts are available in various high-performance coated and uncoated grades for machining a wide variety of materials, including stainless steels, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and titanium.
