Dieterle's LWPH range of indexable radial turning inserts, available in the UK from Advanced Carbide Tooling Ltd, provides rapid metal removal economically on small-diameter components with the convenience of easy in situ replacement.

The inserts have been specifically designed for use with tool-holders on CNC sliding head machines.

They are held by a single counter-sunk locking screw which makes them accessible to index or change without removing the tool-holder.

The four-sided design of the LWPH range provides four cutting edges on each insert with a positive sharp geometry which allows a depth of cut up to 4mm and at the same provides good swarf control.

The design also reduces cutting forces, allowing delicate components to be machined consistently.

A choice of three corner radii - 0.0, 0.2 and 0.4 - is available in two grades: an uncoated micrograin grade and a TiCN coated grade on a tough M20 substrate.

Shanks are available from 8mm to 20mm square.
