New Windows Version of NWA Quality Monitor Provides Complete Plant-Floor Solution for Data Collection and Charting
Northwest Analytical's widely-used Quality Monitor factory-floor statistical process control (SPC) software now comes in a completely revised, Windows-based version, available in the UK from Adept Scientific.
NWA Quality Monitor 2.1 is a complete, configurable solution for standardising workflow procedures, automating data collection and providing real-time SPC feedback, including alarming, throughout the organisation.
Many measuring instrument manufacturers supply SPC software with their equipment, but it's only through a separate, dedicated program like NWA Quality Monitor that all operators can use the same basic SPC workstation.
There are no separate training, management or support procedures that you need when using different software for each instrument or measuring device.
User interface and chart formats can be standardised, resulting in a uniform system throughout an organisation.
Inexpensive to implement and support, it can be installed and configured by existing staff.
NWA Quality Monitor virtually eliminates manual recording, transcribing and charting of data, freeing quality-control staff for more productive work.
This new 32-bit version includes a graphical designer to simplify work-station configuration and maintenance, advanced device and port configuration capabilities, and a help system that can import SOP (standard operating proceedure) documents from a word processor.
With Quality Monitor for Windows, graphical elements can be included in the interface.
For example, parts to be measured can be displayed in diagrammatic or photographic form, accompanied if required by step-by-step operator instructions.
NWA Quality Monitor can collect and analyse data in a manner consistent with the way a company operates and still create charts that meet customer or regulatory requirements.
It can produce all standard charts for SPC and SQC (Statistical Quality Control) and reports for all types of measurements, whether variables or attributes.
Quality Monitor is cost-effective in applications ranging from a single-user workstation to integrating with plant wide information systems.
It combines a full-screen visual designer with wizard-based set-up tools to provide an easy-to-use configuration environment.
Integration features include direct data connection to any ODBC-compliant database, local and distributed alarming, interfaces with the most popular MES, CIM, ERP and LIMS systems, automatic recovery from network failure, and easy sharing of data with NWA Quality Analyst.
Interfacing measurement devices to PCs is often one of the most difficult parts of setting up plant-floor data collection.
However, NWA Quality Monitor comes with an extensive list of pre-configured device interfaces, including most electronic scales, gauges, multiplexers and a wide range of specialised devices.
Adding device input to an NWA Quality Monitor data entry screen is usually done with a few mouse clicks.
In addition, the device and port configuration tools provided make it easy to create new device interfaces and solve communication problems.
