These course materials expand the PowerTools calculus offering, which also provides an advanced calculus course (Calculus III) and 100 Calculus Projects, a set of Maple 7 lessons that students complete on their own.
"Introductory calculus and physics are possibly the most fundamental areas in post-secondary technical education," states Dr.Paul Bragg, Managing Director at Adept Scientific plc.
"We believe that the packages will give lecturers that extra bit of assistance that will allow them and their students to receive maximum benefit from Maple software." With the addition of the three packages, the total number of PowerTools rises to 16.
The Maple 7 Application Center also offers hundreds of other smaller applications covering a wide spectrum of technical areas, including abstract algebra, fluid dynamics, astrophysics and economics.
Maple PowerTools are free application packages and academic course materials for Maple software located on the Maple Application Center, an online resource of technical solutions at http://powertools.adeptscience.co.uk.
PowerTools are developed by experts in the field to help users configure Maple 7 for industry, research and teaching.
Each PowerTool is developed using sound programming and analytical frameworks that have passed rigorous peer review and testing.
Each is a bona fide application, research tool or course material collection with a complete range of functions to tackle complex problems in real domains.
Maple 7 is the latest version of the world's most trusted mathematical problem solving software.
Widely adopted by universities, colleges, research institutions and companies, Maple 7 delivers the comprehensive environment and support resources to visualize and explore mathematical concepts, develop application tools and share mathematical information and documents on the Web.
Combined with hundreds of free add-on packages and applications available through The Maple Application Center (http://mapleapps.adeptscience.co.uk), Maple 7 constitutes the most powerful and flexible analytical tool for professors, researchers, scientists, engineers and students.
