Adept Scientific has announced the launch of a new Web site which offers free resources for students in mathematics, science and engineering to take advantage of Maple 7 mathematics software

Adept Scientific has announced the launch of a new Web site, www.maple4students.co.uk.

The Web site offers free resources to students in mathematics, science and engineering, to enable them to take full advantage of Waterloo Maple's flagship product Maple 7.

Content includes tutorials, course-specific examples and general reference information, as well as "diversionary" content intended to make mathematics more appealing and interesting for students.

Maple 7 has been adopted by universities and colleges around the world as the primary platform to explore and learn difficult mathematical concepts in calculus, algebra and countless applied mathematics courses.

The largest single group of Maple software users is the undergraduate student body.

The Maple Web site for students evolved from the existing Maple Application Center (http://mapleapps.adeptscience.co.uk), a popular Web site offering free resources to the general Maple user community.

"Maple4students.co.uk is evidence of our commitment to one of our most important user groups: the students," says Tom Lee, Vice President, Marketing, for Waterloo Maple.

"By investing in them, we ensure future business from enthusiastic and knowledgeable professionals." Teachers and lecturers can also take advantage of the site with links to educational PowerTools?, Waterloo Maple's suite of free, full-powered add-on packages.

These include complete sets of curriculum material for various college and university level courses, including calculus, linear algebra and engineering mathematics.

Other application resources for students and teachers can be found at The Maple Application Center (http://mapleapps.adeptscience.co.uk) including resources for elementary school-level mathematics, pre-calculus, calculus, physics, engineering, statistics, economics, vector calculus, physics, real analysis and a variety of other subjects.
