Simplifying even sophisticated data
acquisition

The latest version of DasyLab, the software that makes it easy to create your own data acquisition and analysis application, adds a range of new features to simplify even the most sophisticated tasks

The full version of DASYLab v6 provides a new tool to control a large application consisting of more than one DASYLab worksheets calling each other The new Control Sequencer Window makes it easy to combine multiple DASYLab worksheets into a sequence of tests and specify how to start and stop each test step

The separate worksheets can communicate with each other, sharing files and variables so results from one step can be used within other steps in the test sequence.

You can add any number of worksheets into the Control Sequencer File, whose name is shown as the root of a tree display in the Control Sequencer Window.

Significant events in your data can now be tracked and searched quickly, thanks to a new overview of the Event Driven actions within a worksheet, which is displayed in a single window, making it easy to determine which events are being used and what actions they will perform.

An event search feature has been added to the chart recorder making it straightforward to search quickly for occurrences of an event in your data.

Enhancements in DASYLab V6 make it easy to document worksheets by inserting comments into individual modules or adding comments to areas of the worksheet.

Up to 256 characters can be used to more fully describe the use of the module in the worksheet.

When you open the context menu by right mouse clicking on the module, you will see a Module Documentation command.

The command opens a dialogue box that shows the module name, the short description and an edit area.

The worksheet can also be documented with Text Areas, permanently visible on the background of the flowchart.

Simply open the context menu by right mouse clicking on an empty part of the background.

It contains the commands to Edit, Create, Delete or Modify the Documentation Properties of the worksheet text areas.

You can create up to 256 areas, which can be placed everywhere in the flowchart, including within Black Boxes.

You can now save DASYLab worksheets in HTML format (*.HTM).

As with the *.TXT file format, it saves all components and settings as a readable text file, but it uses the HyperText Markup Language for structured text.

Hyperlinks are inserted to allow you to move around the file easily.

Also available as an option for V6 is the Harmonic Analysis module which makes it easy to monitor the odd and even harmonics within a signal.

DASYLab 6 extends support for PCI, cPCI and PC-card data acquisition devices from Omega Engineering, Measurement Computing, ADLink, CyberResearch, and ADAC.

A whole new class of instruments, interchangeable virtual instrumentation (IVI), is now supported.

DMM, Scope and Function Generator classes are included.

And the TEAC GX-1 Data Recorder is supported as a data acquisition device for both input and output. Request a free brochure from Adept Scientific ...
