The first design to feature analogue output is being added to MCC's range of high-quality PCI cards aimed to be functionally equivalent to National Instruments models.

The PCI-DAC6703 is a 16-channel, 16bit analogue output card, available in the UK from Adept Scientific at a very attractive price.

The PCI-DAC6703 offers 16 channels of 16bit (one part in 65,536) analogue output, and a maximum rate of 1111 updates per second on each channel.

The board also offers eight discrete bidirectional digital I/O lines to control relays and solenoids, and monitor switch and contact closures.

Useful design touches include the ability for the power-on state to be set by the user, so that, for example, the board does not inadvertently drive controlled hardware at full speed when switched on.

As ever with this MCC range, autocalibration is featured as standard: all that's needed is the supplied InstaCal software and a click of the mouse, with no potentiometers to adjust.

There's full support for software control through MCC's Universal Library.

Measurement Computing hardware and software is supplied and supported in the UK by Adept Scientific.
