Cubic DAQ opens up new applications
Compact, rugged platform provides acquisition and control in automotive, aerospace, petroleum/refining, simulation, semiconductor manufacturing, medical, HVAC and power generation industries.
PC/Ethernet data acquisition and control systems manufactured by United Electronic Industries (UEI) are now available from Adept Scientific.
UEI is a leader in the PC/Ethernet data acquisition and control, data logger/recorder and programmable automation controller (PAC) and Modbus TCP markets.
The company's revolutionary Cube form factor provides a compact, rugged platform ideal for a wide range of applications in diverse industries such as automotive, aerospace, petroleum/refining, simulation, semiconductor manufacturing, medical, HVAC and power generation.
According to Mike Pisapia, Adept's General Manager: "The Cube is a great addition to our existing DAQ range, it compliments our current products and opens up new application areas for users who need stand-alone or distributed multichannel devices".
"The ARINC-429 and 1553b interfaces particularly will be great for our larger number of Aerospace customers".
The Cube is uniquely flexible, capable of being deployed as an Ethernet I/O slave, a stand-alone data logger, a stand-alone Linux-based PAC or a Modbus slave.
The Cube also offers incredible I/O flexibility, accommodating up to six I/O boards from a selection of over 25.
With one of the widest ranges of I/O signal interfaces for analogue, digital, counter/timer, ARINC-429, quadrature encoder, CANbus, serial and many more, the Cube can be user configured for the most demanding DAQ applications.
UEI offers extensive drivers/support for all popular non Windows and real-time operating systems.
This includes drivers for Linux, QNX, RTX, Real-Time Linux, RTAI Linux and LabView RT.
Complete and seamless support of the main DAQ development applications including LabView, Matlab and DasyLab are supplied as part of the framework library.
The Cube's ability to sample at up to 1Msample/s, ease of use, flexible channel count, compact size and strong mechanical and electrical ruggedness make it a unique product for which it holds a number of patents and has won many awards.
