Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 9, 2008

Adept Scientific has announced the release of EndNote X2 bibliographic management software for Mac OS X.

EndNote X2 introduces a full text locator for references, Smart Groups for instant reference sorting, Cite While You Write (patent pending) compatibility with Microsoft Word 2008 and additional features that allow users to maximise efficiency and focus on their research.

To find full text automatically In EndNote X2, the user simply selects one or more references, or a group, to locate full text by scanning available online sources.

Once found, EndNote downloads and attaches the PDF file of the article to the appropriate reference automatically all while the user continues working.

EndNote X2 brings organisational and collection touch points together in the Groups panel, making these frequently used tasks easy to find and use: The update allows: the creation of Smart Groups based on user criteria for automatic sorting of references as they're added to an EndNote library; the user to search favourite online resources and library catalogues instantly; the retrieval of deleted references from the Trash group; and the transfer of groups of references between EndNote Web and EndNote.
