Alion Science upgrades MSS software
Adept Scientific has announced the launch of Alion Science and Technology's Micro Saint Sharp (MSS) version 3.0.
Alion said that MSS 3.0 allows users to visually model and improve workflow processes with extreme detail and accuracy.
MSS 3.0 allows users to visually model and improve workflow processes with extreme detail and accuracy.
Using a graphical user interface and flow chart approach to modelling, MSS 3.0 offers the ability to help answer 'what if' questions and perform data analysis.
Features in the updated version allow the user to: automatically represent resource- and capacity-limited processes; view, edit and print data using a process diagram, tree view or the grid view; debug models during execution with the Immediates Window Export runtime-only simulations.
Sue Archer, Alion senior vice president and manager of the operational solutions group, said that thousands of current users are modelling processes that include hospital emergency room traffic, manufacturing floor operations and military manpower planning.
'Any process that can be represented by a flow chart can easily be modelled using Micro Saint Sharp,' said Archer.
'This upgraded version should prove to be even more valuable for users involved in military planning and operations, human factors, health care, manufacturing and the service industry.' Users can view their models as network diagrams or 2D or 3D animations.
Alion's Animator 3D software, which enables users to create a virtual environment with 3D moving images, is included with the Gold version of MSS 3.0.
Also included in the Gold version is Optquest, a tool that automatically optimises processes.
MSS 3.0 comes with a large clip art library and numerous 3D objects, allowing users to quickly build realistic, detailed scenes and to create reusable models of their own.
With MSS 3.0, Microsoft Visio drawings can be imported and exported.
Micro Saint Sharp 3.0 is available from Adept Scientific in the UK, Germany and Denmark.
