Adept unveils circuit board and design system

An Adept Scientific product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 12, 2009

Adept Scientific has announced the release of the Easy-PC Version 13 printed circuit board (PCB) and schematic design system.

The system allows the user to add a second screen to enable independent running of Easy-PC Schematics from one and Easy-PC PCB on the other, with full communications between the two.

Easy-PC is a ready-to-use PCB design product and the latest version is packed with more than 45 new developments

Design rulers add horizontal and vertical rulers with graduations to the design window and the cursor position is constantly displayed in both ruler axes.

Pin data can be imported directly into the component editor grid, saving time for large devices with 144 pins or more and alphanumeric pin names/numbers.

Component-to-component spacing rules can be defined within the PCB design and shapes can be used as component placement areas with component-to-component checking carried out in the DRC dialogue.

Pre-manufacturing checks can be defined and run from within the design rules check or plotting dialogue before the design is sent for manufacturing.

Easy-PC 13 is able to define net lengths, values and tolerances and once applied to net classes, any net using the class can be checked and any differences reported.

The composite plane feature enables creation of a single plot of the full plane directly from Easy-PC and is ready to use with no other processes required from the plot house or manufacturer.

Barcodes can be defined and added to designs using a system-text font.

Parameters such as inter-line spacing and thickness can be defined, ensuring the bar code is the correct size and readable by the bar code reader.

There are two possible lines from the track end when routing manually: one shows the actual electrical node in the netlist and the other a dynamic connection to the nearest node on the same net.

Improvements to pan and zoom allow sensitivity and the ability to reverse the mouse direction.
