Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 24, 2006

American Sensor Technologies has been ranked 27th in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Programme for New Jersey.

American Sensor Technologies has been ranked 27th in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Programme for New Jersey, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the state by Deloitte and Touche.

This is the third consecutive year that American Sensor Technologies has been ranked in the programme.

Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 2001 to 2005.

Last year, AST placed 25th and in 2004, AST placed fifth.

"As our market presence gains momentum, American Sensor Technologies is becoming one of the most watched and respected sensor companies in the industry", states Michael P Eldredge, Executive Vice President - COO/CFO, American Sensor Technologies.

"Further, our acquisition of Macro Sensors, a well known LVDT developer and manufacturer, has been successfully integrated into the AST family of companies".

Macro Sensors joined AST's other subsidiary, Hong Kong Sensor Technologies, which was formed in 2001.

All three companies allow AST to offer a broad range of sensor products along with technical expertise for their clients.

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have base-year operating revenues of at least $50,000 and current-year operating revenues of at least $1 million in 2005.

The company must be headquartered in North America, own proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of its operating revenues and devote a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.

Winners of the 19 regional Technology Fast 50 programmes in North America are automatically entered into the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 programme, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.

Winners of this programme will be announced in the autumn of 2006.
