RoHS compliant pressure sensor range is introduced

An American Sensor Technologies product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 18, 2006

American Sensor Technologies (AST) now has the capability to offer RoHS compliant pressure sensors, transducers and transmitters when specified by its customers

The following AST pressure sensing products meet all requirements of the RoHS Directive.

The RoHS Regulations implement the provisions of the European Parliament and Council Directive on the Restrictions of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment [2002/95/EC].

This policy was developed in order to protect human health and the environment, in addition to complementing the Waste Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Directive [2002/96/EC].

RoHS is commonly referred to as the 'lead-free' directive, but it restricts the use of the following six substances: Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent chromium, Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).
