AST publishes pressure sensor catalogue

An American Sensor Technologies product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 2, 2009

American Sensor Technologies (AST) has released a 43-page Hazardous Location Pressure Sensor Products catalogue.

Products are arranged into three category sections: UL/cUL-approved, CSA-approved and applications.

AST carries UL-approved Class I, Division 1 intrinsically safe and Class I, Division 2 non-incendive products.

Three product configurations are featured: standard, adjustable and submersible.

Standard and adjustable sensors are available with pressure ranges from 0-2.5PSI through 0-10,000PSI and submersible sensors from 0-5PSI through 0-100PSI.

Because of the recent addition of pressure containment requirements in Canada, the company has also expanded its hazardous area product line by introducing the CSA Single Seal approval.

The catalogue outlines new electrical code requirements for pressure sensors in Canada.

All the approved products are listed, including the AST4600 Explosionproof.

The CSA-certified products are tested to US UL standards, allowing customers to purchase one sensor for either requirement.

The Hazardous Location Pressure Sensor catalogue includes applications in which products can be used.

Using industry-location photographs, the catalogue describes how sensors can be used in tanks and on-shore and off-shore pipelines and compressor panels.
