Adchem Corp has published a white paper on its website entitled "Protecting adhesive tape systems from static electricity".

Adchem Corp has published a white paper on its website entitled "Protecting adhesive tape systems from static electricity" This comprehensive and highly educational paper addresses a number of measures that may be taken to control the effects of static electricity during the use and conversion of pressure-sensitive tape, as well as how to reduce the hazards and risks to pressure-sensitive tape users and convertors from the buildup of electrostatic charges

Adchem makes several key recommendations, such as maintaining a relative humidity above 50% with water spray misters to mitigate problems for uncoated papers; minimising slippage in the transport system where PSA tapes contact stationary or slower moving idler rollers; and, the addition of active ionisers as an effective static control mechanism.
