Camera offers fast movement capture

An Adept Electronic Solutions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 7, 2008

The Camrecord fast cameras from Optronis offer the possibility to capture the movement of a fast event and freeze it to a single image.

These cameras can be used for high-speed production machinery diagnostics, animation, sport, biomechanics, crash testing and many others that require high-speed events to be viewed slower.

The most important feature of Camrecord cameras is the high frame rate that ranges from 500fps (Camrecord 600) to 1000fps (Camrecord 450 and 1000) up to 5000fps (Camrecord 5000) at full resolution.

Lightweight and small in size these fast cameras are suitable for mobile applications such as fault diagnosis on production lines or animal behaviour analysis.

They record internally and then allow for transfer of the high-speed recording to a desktop or laptop via a fast Gigabit Ethernet connection.

Two Firewire models are also available for data transfer.

They cameras also equipped with a large internal memory (max 8GB) for extended recording times.

Another feature is the fan-less design, which ensures reliable use in harsh environments.

All of the cameras in the Camrecord series are supported by Camcontrol software.

The Camcontrol software allows setup of all camera parameters, shows camera images in a video-live mode and acquires image sequences.

Images that are captured can be displayed before and during the acquisition.

Final adjustments to optics and lighting can be carried out during long-lasting acquisition time-intervals.

Camcontrol software offers storage flexibility, visualisation and handling of different image and video formats.
