Dalsa unveils Sapera software imaging toolkit

Dalsa has introduced Sapera Essential, a cost-effective software imaging toolkit that bundles board level acquisition and control with image processing tools.
This provides the critical functionality to design, develop and deploy high-performance machine vision applications.
Sapera Essential offers users a single API and a comprehensive feature set, including program portability, versatile camera controls, flexible display functionality and management, and easy-to-use application development wizards.
It offers quick and easy access to software functions to control image acquisition, manage image memory and facilitate image processing and analysis tasks.
Sapera Essential includes board configuration and camera set-up utilities plus a suite of image processing tools including a new pattern-finding package employing correlation and geometric pattern-finding algorithms, along with versatile barcode and blob analysis functions.
Sapera Essential comes bundled with Dalsa's advanced Camexpert, a camera configuration utility specifically designed to leverage the power of Dalsa's image acquisition boards.
The Windows-based utility provides an interactive environment within which to create a new, or modify an existing config file for area and linescan applications.
Camexpert features include: enhanced graphical user interface with camera-centric parameters; live grab and display window for online parameter tweaking; sophisticated waveform view improves understanding of signal inter-relationships; and interactive waveform tools allow precise timing parameter set-up.
Sapera Essential features an advanced, yet cost-effective, geometric search tool that quickly and accurately recognises up to five instances of a target pattern, regardless of their orientation in challenging lighting conditions.
