AESXGA-080V camera allows visual inspection

An Adept Electronic Solutions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 23, 2009

Adept has introduced the AESXGA-080V, a simple 'XGA output' colour camera.

This camera connects directly to a TFT or similar monitor and displays a high-resolution digital flicker-free image.

There is no requirement for a computer interface, grabbers, adapters or any other intermediate hardware.

The AESXGA-080V is a 1/2.5in progressive scan CCD camera suitable for a range of image-display applications.

It features 1024 x 767 pixel resolution and outputs images at 60 frames per second.

The 5.2 x 5.2um pixel-size ensures high sensitivity.

It outputs 24-bit colour images that are clear, sensitive and sharp.

A built in cross-hair generator enables accurate alignment.

Powering the XGA camera and plugging it into a standard low-cost computer monitor lets the user view images live in high quality format.

The AESXGA-080V is compatible with a range of monitors, including CRT computer monitors and the latest LCD and plasma displays operating in the standard 4:3 or newest widescreen 16:9 formats.

It features RGB and gain control and HD imaging.

It is suited to applications that need to be monitored by a human, such as product/process inspection, vehicle/aircraft control, medical imaging and more.

Since no PC is required there are no mechanical or software issues.

The AESXGA-080V high-resolution sensor provides stable colour images.

It has a small form-factor of 70 x 52 x 51mm, allowing it to be used in confined spaces.

It can be used with C-mount lenses, available in all focal lengths.

The camera operates on a 5V DC 350mA power supply.

The controls on the back of the camera make it flexible for use in different conditions.

Three potentiometers allow the colour balance to be adjusted and fixed.

Gain can also be controlled via a potentiometer.

Four DIP switches control black or white crosshair overlay, high sensitivity mode (for applications where low light levels prevail and image quality cannot be compromised) and fix the RGB settings.

The AESXGA-080V camera can be used for: parts inspection, packaging inspection and as an alternative to classroom data-projectors, airport baggage conveyor displays and lecture-theatre displays.
