New from Audon Electronics is a range of off-the-shelf keyboard encoders.

These encoders allow a button, contact or keypad to generate Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP keyboard characters.

There are several encoders in the range, from the entry-level KBE-98, the KBE-24 and KBE-64, which can generate keyboard macros (multiple keyboard character sent sequentially from a single key press) to the user-programmable KBE-16P.

All encoders come with an external keyboard connector to allow a standard keyboard to be operated in parallel.

Features: Full Windows 95/98/2000/NT/ME/XP keyboard set including sleep, wake and power keys; Connect multiple buttons, contacts or keypads via screw terminals or SIL header; Operate an external keyboard simultaneously; DIN rail mounting options; fully user programmable versions; ex-stock and low cost; small compact size.

Applications: control panels and control systems; Industrial PC's; Kiosks and public displays; Gaming and vending machines; Flight simulators.
