Ashtead Technology is demonstrating its commitment to the market by substantially increasing its fleet of ultrasonic flaw detectors.

A result of increased demand from its customers, this is only one in a string of high profile orders from Ashtead Technology.

Olympus NDT, renowned worldwide for the quality of its products, has received an order to supply a total of 26 new Epoch 4 and Epoch LT handheld detection sets, as well as the new Omniscan MX.

Combining the latest in digital flaw detection technology with a tough yet user-friendly modular design, the Omniscan MX is capable of a wide variety of ultrasonic flaw detection tasks.

Built with both off and onshore applications in mind, the Omniscan uses Olympus NDT's advanced time-of-flight diffraction, C-scan and real-time processing software to detect flaws in welds and other structures.

The Omniscan MX also has an ultrasonic phased array module that increases the probability of detection of defects as well as increasing the speed of inspection and reporting when compared with conventional ultrasonic methods.

Managing Director, Andy Dogget explains: "This is a significant development for Ashtead Technology as it allows us to provide cutting edge technology to a traditionally demanding marketplace".

"The ability to supply our customers with the latest technology is highly important to Ashtead Technology, and these new instruments from Olympus NDT will allow us to continue doing so".
