Arnold Taptite 2000 are thread forming screws which form a female thread when screwed into a preformed hole.

Arnold Taptite 2000 are thread forming screws which form a female thread when screwed into a preformed hole.

By using the proven technology of a trilobular shank, the new fastener has an innovative new thread design - the radius profile thread.

This new thread optimises the thread forming process, by allowing the mating material to flow much easier and closer to the core of the screw, at a much reduced installation torque (by up to 50% compared with other types of thread forming screws), giving an improvement in clamping force and resulting in a secure screw installation.

The female thread formed by Taptite 2000 is also compatible with a standard metric thread, thus enabling it to be replaced with a standard metric screw should the original ever be lost or damaged.
