Arnold Umformtechnik has launched a new screw for cross-threading applications.
The MAThread screw ensures short cycle times by minimising failures, repairs, scrap and downtime during assembly.
It also reduces the risk of injury to assembly workers when making screw connections with through hole.
Every day, industries throughout the world encounter assembly problems caused by cross-alignment of screws into the counter threads.
This reduces cycle rates and assembly workers are at risk of injury.
And the cost of repair, failures and scrap adds costs to the production process.
With the patented MAThread dog point, Arnold Umformtechnik is able to supply an innovative solution to the problem.
The special dog point design ensures optimum feed into the application.
As the threads come into contact MAThread begins to cam over the female thread.
The MAThread design forces the two thread helixes to align every time without fail.
This means that screws with MAThread dog points are shorter, lighter and can be used in more applications than other special fasteners.
They are easy to fit, robust, and thus eliminate many problems that might occur when fitting threaded fasteners.
The product not only gives sustained cost savings in the production process, but also makes a significant contribution to solving technically difficult assembly procedures.
This is why MAThread has become standard for OEMs such as General Motors and DaimlerChrysler, as well as suppliers such as Visteon.
