When Fox's Biscuits decided to upgrade the level detection system for the storage of its various biscuit ingredients, reliability and cost effectiveness were at the top of the agenda.

With this in mind, the company turned to UK market leader Applied Weighing.

Applied Weighing was able to offer a unique product that has the ability to detect content levels in various forms, such as solids, liquids and slurries.

The Uniprobe 100/200 is unlike other level probes, which are only capable of reading either liquid or powder.

Their clever design has also allowed Fox's Biscuits to mount them on the bottom, top and side of its vessels for maximum accuracy, and they are equipped with alarms that can be programmed to detect high and low process material levels.

On installation, Fox's Biscuits was delighted with the accuracy and reliability of the Uniprobe.

Even with the varying temperatures and inconsistencies of the ingredients, the level probes remain unaffected.

The company now uses over 20 Uniprobes for their various silos on site.

Engineering Manager of Fox's Biscuits, Jerry Burton says: "The key benefit for us was that we could reduce our spare part stock holding as we can use the same Uniprobe for all our ingredients.

They are also low maintenance so I save time and money on repairs".
