Indicators cover full range of weighing tasks

An Applied Weighing International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 3, 2003

Applied Weighing has developed ranges of weight indicators that are suitable for any industry and almost any application.

Applied Weighing has developed ranges of weight indicators that are suitable for any industry and almost any application.

The recently launched IQ range was designed to provide economical, well-functioned control for any application from single station weighing - whether platform scales or vessel weighing systems - to more complicated processes such as multiple station weighing, including batch and recipe control.

The includes the 920i, a fully programmable weighing controller that combines intelligence, speed and flexibility to accurately process data faster than any other system on the market.

The 920i is designed for the most technological of process weighing applications.

Using a novel A/D conversion algorithm, the 920i receives 960 updates per second, making it over three times faster than any other programmable weight controller.

The 920i also incorporates a large graphical LCD with selectable character sizes, real time bargraphs illustrating filling and batching processes and the ability to display up to 28 separate weighing systems simultaneously.

The 920i communicates with protocols such as DeviceNet, Profibus and Remote I/O.

Also in the range are the 710, 355 and 520.

Like the 920i, the products have identical build structures, are made from stainless steel, ingress protected to IP66 and are robust and versatile enough to be used for almost any application.

However, for weighing systems required to operate in an areas classified as hazardous then Applied Weighing has another extensive range of weighing equipment that includes, for example, the ST-Ex range of weight controllers.

These controllers provide cost-effective solutions that can be tailored for Zone 1 or Zone 2 use, battery or mains powered, and used with platform scales or vessel weighing systems.

Applied Weighing's load cells and instrumentation have complied with the ATEX directive for more than two years, making them well placed to provide solutions and give advice about the requirements of this directive and its implications on weighing systems.

A technical support department is able to deal with all enquiries from initial project conception to after sales service.

Engineers are also regionally based throughout the UK to give a fast response.

The technical support team focusing on hazardous area applications has now been running for some time and has proved very successful with Applied Weighing's customers.

As Rod Morgan, Sales and Marketing Director at Applied Weighing said: "Applied Weighing products have complied with the ATEX directive for well over two years.

This experience puts us in a good position to advise on the best solution that serves the application.

This, and second to none after sales support means our clients not only get the best but also the most cost-effective service available from start to finish".
