Silo weighing problems solved in Korea

An Applied Weighing International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 20, 2005

Applied Weighing recently helped a Korean manufacturing company with its silo weighing problems.

Applied Weighing, the UK's leading manufacturer of weighing systems recently helped a Korean manufacturing company with its silo weighing problems.

65 Safemounts, load cells and intelligent weight controllers were exported to Korea and then installed without a glitch.

The Safemounts were chosen due to their ability to accurately weigh the massive eight-legged 1000t coal silos at the manufacturing plant in Korea.

Individually the Safemounts are able to weigh up to 150t - more than meeting the total potential weight inside the silos.

The load cells supplied were also precalibrated to the intelligent weight controller - the IQ 355, making installation extremely quick and easy.

Technical Director John Treacy at Applied Weighing said: "Our aim was to ensure that installation in Korea was simple and pain free".

"We ensured that on arrival, the engineers in Korea had as little work as possible before the entire weighing system was up and running".

"This reduced down time in the factory".

All Applied Weighing's products, which are manufactured in the UK to all health and safety standards including ATEX, can be supplied fully calibrated - and come with a five year guarantee.
