Two-day events comprising four half day free introductory workshops for advanced engineering companies in the south west.

During 2006 the Advanced Engineering Skills Project will be going on the road to deliver a series of master classes These are two-day events comprising four half day free introductory workshops for advanced engineering companies in the south west

The first two will be in March in the Bristol area and June in the Plymouth area.

On the first day in the morning will be a class called: "Management and supervisors are key to your company's future success".

This class will focus on the benefits of training management and supervisor teams to ensure that the business achieves its full potential.

The workshop will be delivered by Bema and Avonvale Training.

In the afternoon will be: "Lean, the way of taking waste out of the business".

This class will demonstrate some of the tools that are needed to cut out waste.

It will be the first step to saving money.

The workshop will be delivered by the South West Manufacturing Advisory Service.

On the second day in the morning will be: "Purchasing and managing the supply chain".

This class will focus on the key issue of purchasing and managing the supply chain.

This is key if companies are to continue to make savings outside their own factory.

Well managed supply chains do improve the bottom line.

The workshop will be delivered by Supply Solutions, an international purchasing and supply chain consultancy.

Day two in the afternoon will see: "Sales development".

This class is designed to show the importance of sales development.

The workshop will be delivered by SA Partners, an internationally recognised lean consultancy.

All workshops will be offered on a first come first served basis.

Companies can attend more than one workshop and will be allowed different people at each.
