AEG Electric Motors has opened a UK sister company to represent its activities in the UK and Ireland.

The new company called AEG-Lafert Electric Motors is based in Crewe and headed up by Nigel Evenett.

The new organisation will improve the local service to existing and potential OEM customers of AEG-Lafert.

Evenett states "The demands of OEM's today cannot be satisfied by technical innovation alone, but by ensuring a reliable supply partnership which demands a greater understanding of the customers overall business.

Our aim is to become an integral part of the OEM's value chain by taking responsibility for their motor requirements." A strategic partner for AEG-Lafert is Micro Clutch Developments of Weston-super-Mare who hold stock of motors up to 132kW and also offer a range of power transmission equipment to the OEM while servicing the end user market through a network of repair companies.

Over 60% of the AEG-Lafert production from three factories in Italy and Spain is devoted to LV Motors designed to customer requirements.

Frame sizes 56-315 are available in power ranges 0.09-200kW.
