Brake motors offer flexible stopping
AEG Lafert has added a three new ranges of brake motors to allow greater flexibility to design for customer applications.
Available in frame sizes 63-180 and powers 0.12-30kw the new range has improved efficiencies and now complies with the CEMEP Eff 1 category from 11kw and above in both 2 and 4 pole in standard version, the cast iron range powers 30-90kw already being Eff1.
The high efficiency "HE" range is available in powers below 11kw to complete the Eff1 range.
Flexibility in design has been improved by introducing removable feet which allows for different terminal box and flange configuration.
The new design also has individual bolting of endshields at each end so allows much easier modification to variations in flange mountings.
Another feature is the possibility to approve for both UL and CSA standards in one new CUS standard encompassing all North American market requirements.
The approval is made possible by utilising the UL authority for Canadian standards and includes for the stringent EPAct requirements on efficiency.
Group Sales Director Luca Trevisiol states "Whilst the key objective of the project was to meet the market demands for efficiency, it was also an opportunity to bring a flexibility to our standard range for adaptation to the OEM demands of custom design".
The AM design extends to single phase where a range is available for low torque applications such as pump and fan, but also high torque for use on machine tool and geared applications.
These are now available in dual voltage designs.
The new range even sports a new livery, matt black RAL9005 is now the standard, being the most popular requested customer colour.
