AEG Lafert has added a three new ranges of brake motors to allow greater flexibility to design for customer applications.

AEG Lafert has added a three new ranges of brake motors to allow greater flexibility to design for customer applications.

From two production units in Italy and Spain over 40,000 brake motors are produced every year in the power range 0.12-200kW.

The new AM ranges can be offered in different three-phase versions, and multispeed types are also available.

Now with an increased choice of braking torques from 3.5-1600Nm in AC or DC braking coils, the new AM design allows for over 20,000 combinations of shaft and flange designs to best satisfy bespoke applications for both mechanical and electrical requirements.

Three new ranges are available.

The AMF range, with an AC braking coil and improved reliability, is ideal for applications that need a high braking torque, quickly and safely, such as traversing, lifting and other heavy duty applications.

They are available in power ratings from 0.12 up to 15kW in single or multispeed options.

The AMS range features a DC braking coil to give soft and gradual braking from 0.37 up to 11kW and are ideal where controlled but not necessarily precision braking is required.

This range has been adapted to fulfil new European safety laws for operators of machinery with high inertial masses where a controlled stopping is required to prevent damage to machinery and operator alike.

A new brake design has reduced the overall length that further benefits the machinery manufacturer.

The AMBX is the third range of brake motors to cover the higher powers from 0.37 up to 200kW.

It is designed for customer specific application and can use all leading brake manufacturers component parts.
