AEG has launched a new range of single-phase induction motors that offers the machine builder and the user an extended range for application choice but also the flexibility of the Multi-mount design The new range encompasses two types of single-phase motor designs each with different starting characteristics for use on different applications

The permanent capacitor type AMM is particularly suitable for applications that require lower starting torque such as fan or pump drive and is available in IEC frame sizes 56-100 and power ratings 0.09-2.2kW.

A derivative of this type is the AMD which offers dual voltage capability, typically 110-230V 50Hz For higher starting torque applications AEG offers the AMME capacitor-start/capacitor-run type.

This design delivers starting torques up to 250% and is available in frame sizes 63-100 and a power range of 0.12-3kW This design also has a dual voltage option in the AMDE.

Across the new range the feet can be removed from the aluminium body of the motor and from the 80 frame, can be attached in alternative positions allowing the user to choose the position of the terminal box.

Also the IP55 enclosure is secured by enclosing the capacitors within the terminal box.

For exporters to North America the new range offers versions in 60Hz and approved to cURus standards this new approval encompasses both CSA standards for Canada and UL recognised for the US market.
