Brake motor handles handles heavy loads
Lafert AMBY brake motors have been used for the scenery movement systems in the recently refurbished La Scala and La Fenice theatres in Italy.
Lafert Electric Motors' produces EFF1 brake motors and 160 frame motors The AMF three-phase brake motor offers a very high-torque AC brake (1.5 to 250Nm) with double braking surface as standard

New range of aluminium induction motors introduced
Available in frame sizes 63-180 and powers 0.12-30kW, the new AEG Electric Motors aluminium induction motor range has improved efficiencies and now complies with the CEMEP Eff 1 category
Debut at Drives and Controls
AEG Lafert Electric Motors will be exhibiting its range of induction motors for the first time at the Drives and Controls Show at the UK NEC.
It suits heavy-duty applications, as well as applications that require high-frequency braking combined with power and precise operation.
Applications include cranes, lifting gear for work platforms, industrial hoists, heavy load work transfer and heavy work piece manoeuvring/positioning.
The AMF offers a rapid brake on/off capability combined with adjustable braking torque.

Volcano shifts smoke to safety
AEG Lafert has developed a new range of smoke ventilation motors that fully comply with European draft standard EN12101-3.
It is available in frame sizes from 63 to 160 with power outputs from 0.12 to 22kW, with the same speed range as a Lafert standard motor.
It can also be supplied with a DC brake as an option.
The AMBY series has a DC high-torque brake (1.8 to 250Nm) with a double braking surface as standard.
The motor offers progressive noiseless braking and its wide range of add-on options, such as encoders, axial independent cooling fan hand release lever and special brake designs.
The silent operation and precise positioning offered by these capabilities has resulted in the use of Lafert AMBY brake motors for the scenery movement systems in the recently refurbished La Scala and La Fenice theatres in Italy.
A recent redesign of the AMBY motors has reduced the number of brake components employed.
Typical applications include automation projects that call for smooth intervention, transfer machinery and packaging machinery, frequently driving through gearboxes.
Like the AMF, the AMBY range is available in frame sizes from 63 to 160, with outputs of 0.12 to 22kW and same polarities as Lafert standard asynchronous motors.
The AMS' principal features include compact size and the soft, progressive and noiseless operation of its low-toque DC brake with fixed braking torque (3 to 30Nm).
Like the AMBY brake motor, it is offered with a wide range of add-on options.
It is ideal for woodworking/cutting machinery, machines requiring long braking periods and high braking duties including parking brake and safety stop.
It is available in the same frame sizes, power outputs and polarities as the AMF and AMBY brake motors Every Lafert brake motor can be marked cURus to meet the North American safety regulations.
In addition to all these design features, the Lafert brake motors can benefit from customised engineering to match specific mechanical and electrical customer needs.
