Lafert introduces Marlin corrosion-proof motors

A Lafert Electric Motors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 12, 2009

Lafert's IP66 Marlin stainless motors are hose-down tolerant and corrosion proof, making them suitable for hygiene-sensitive applications.

These qualities will be demonstrated on Stand B41 at the PPMA Show, which will run from 29 September to 1 October at the NEC in Birmingham.

Exhibits will also feature examples of Lafert's single-phase and brake motors, as well as various custom-engineered motors.

The Marlin stainless-steel AC motors are IEC-dimensioned, smooth-bodied machines that can be supplied with compatible stainless-steel gearboxes.

Applications cover all those that require motors in hygiene-sensitive processes.

As well as the food-and-drink industries, Marlin stainless-steel motors are suitable for the pharmaceutical, processing and chemical industries (finishes can be to 0.5RA).

In addition to meeting stringent hygiene requirements, Marlin motors are said to be cost effective.

Investment in Marlin motors normally results in rapid payback by minimising costly downtime for strip-down cleaning or motor failure, while also avoiding frequent motor replacement expense.

As the motors are made of stainless steel, there is no risk of contamination from rust or peeling paint, while their smooth bodies promote maximum cleanliness as there are no crevices for the potential build-up of residual matter.

Power ratings range from 0.18kW to 7.5kW in frame sizes up to 132 as TEFC machines.

Smaller units (up to 0.75kW) are also available from the size 63 frame as TENV machines.
