The Kurz Series 534FT inline thermal mass flow transmitter is the result of long-term research to offer a state-of-the-art, inline thermal mass flow transmitter for all process gas applications.

The Kurz Series 534FT inline thermal mass flow transmitter is the result of long-term research to offer a state-of-the-art, inline thermal mass flow transmitter for all process gas applications.

The main aims were to eliminate uncertainties with inlet and outlet piping effects on the velocity profile, gain better accuracy, reduce flow noise and pressure drop and create larger turn-down ratio, all eliminating the need for adapters and field welding.

Flow nozzles have been designed to "flatten" the velocity profile at the thermal sensor location and flow diffusers used to reduce the overall pressure drop, making a stable velocity profile transition for the Model 534FT to match up with the inlet/outlet piping.

This was found to be more successful than screens, perforated plate, honeycomb or vortex generators, due to their production of large-scale turbulence and flow noise, less repeatability and more pressure drop for the same flow.

Because of these advantages, a higher flow turn-down ratio will be enjoyed.

The efficient flow diffusers were designed to decelerate the gas in order to adapt to the inlet and outlet fittings and the built in flow nozzle.

The Series 534FT has eight basic models, each of which has three inlet/outlet pipe size options.

The end-to-end pressure drop has been accurately specified, and the laboratory gas calibration feature options have been expanded to include calibrations at pressure.
