The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has recently approved a new test method for the MAX-2000XL moisture analyser.

The new method is D6980-04 "Standard test method for determination of moisture in plastics by loss in weight".

This new standard test method is a valuable tool for users of the MAX-2000XL allowing comparison of results between manufacturers of plastics and their customers.

The MAX-2000XL is the latest variant in the highly successful Computrac range of LOD analysers.

Equally at home on the production floor as it is in the laboratory, the rugged MAX-2000XL offers speed, reliability, accuracy, consistency and ease of use.

With a real time graph of the test drying curve and memory storage for 100 tests (with statistical analysis capability for mean, mean standard deviation and coefficient of variation), the 2000XL represents state-of-the-art LOD technology.

The MAX-2000XL has a measurement range down to 50ppm allowing it to be used for analysing many plastic and resin samples including: ABS, polycarbonate, polyester, Nylon 66, Nylon 6, polypropylene and polyurethane.

The latest units can also be supplied 21 CFR part II compliant for the pharmaceutical industry with an on-site validation package available as a cost option, if preferred.
