Training centre hosts first flowmeter course

An Able Instruments and Controls product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 25, 2008

ABLE Instruments and Controls' course offered delegates an introduction to coriolis mass flow meters with a large proportion of hands-on practical training.

Able Instruments and Controls has successfully delivered the first training course at its purpose-built process training centre in Dyce, Aberdeen.

The fully course offered delegates an introduction to coriolis mass flow meters with a large proportion of hands-on practical training.

The delegates were able to commission and troubleshoot the installed Coriolis meters on the process rig to apply the course theory and gain a practical understanding of how a Coriolis flowmeter operates.

Further delegates have already enrolled for the next scheduled course in February.

The course is aimed at instrument engineers, design engineers and engineering buyers who have a basic understanding of flow metering and who want to learn about Coriolis theory and how it has been applied to mass flow metering.

No experience with Coriolis Flow Meters is necessary for this introductory course.

The one-day course objective is to enable delegates to: describe and understand how Coriolis meters operate; generate a specification for a Coriolis meter; understand fundamentals to install and commission a Coriolis flow meter; apply Coriolis technology correctly; and troubleshoot and diagnose operating problems.

The course will be run on a regular schedule at the Aberdeen training centre.

The training rig covers a total floor space of 200m2 with over 100m of 4in flow lines, giving opportunity for practical sessions on all common process instrumentation.

Live images of the rig can be viewed on the Able website.
