Guide covers automation range
An overview of Aerotech's range of motion controllers includes the A3200 Digital Automation Platform, a software-only, PC- based, Firewire-interfaced system.
By utilizing common bearing rails, both carriages have superior axial alignment that eliminates the problems typical of conventional stage alignment.
The compact, dual carriage, design offers each carriage a greater range of motion, as well as access to the entire range of travel.
Because the linear motor in this new design is a non-contact device there is no maintenance required to its parts even in continuous duty.
Unlike a screw-based system, the performance of the stage will not deteriorate over time and there is no backlash, windup or friction.
The resulting velocity is far superior to alternative technologies.
The software-enabled axes can be operated in synchronised or independent mode.
Independent control is useful for setup and load/unload operations, whilst synchronised mode allows each axis to operate in the same, or in opposite, directions with a constant, synchronous velocity.
Users can alternate between modes during a single process.
The entire range of Aerotech's motion controllers are available to drive the FiberCouple 130 system.
Available platforms include the UNIDEX 500PCI-bus- based controller with rack-mounted amplifiers or the UNIDEX 511 stand-alone controller with Integral amplifiers and front panel, RS-232 or IEEE-488.
All controllers come with a range of flexible software packages; including easy-to-use WindowsTM based software, LabVIEW drivers and C and Visual Basic libraries. Request a free brochure from Aerotech ...
