Guide covers automation range
An overview of Aerotech's range of motion controllers includes the A3200 Digital Automation Platform, a software-only, PC- based, Firewire-interfaced system.
Low inertia and zero backlash mean the ADRT is ideal for applications requiring frequent directional changes.
When coupled with Aerotech's MXH series resolution multipliers, resolution can be as fine as 0.12arc-sec.
The motor and high-performance rotary encoder are directly coupled to a common shaft.
The absence of gear trains and mechanical couplings means no position errors caused by hysteresis, windup, or backlash.
The ADRT Series uses a slotless, ironless motor to give extremely smooth performance and ease of tuning when compared to competitive iron-core and variable-reluctance motor designs.
Being a brushless motor it has no inherent wear and no gears to maintain.
Dual large diameter bearings maximise performance with respect to wobble, moment stiffness and repeatability, while integral "T-slots" ease the installation of custom fixtures and instrumentation.
The square package design coupled with the integral T-slots permit horizontal mounting without custom brackets.
The ADRT has an integral mounting flange for easy top down mounting and employs side-exit cables.
Competitive products require additional mounting plates for top down mounting or special base considerations because the motor power and feedback cables exit from the bottom.
Aerotech manufactures a wide range of servo amplifiers and advanced motion controllers to provide a complete integrated positioning package. Request a free brochure from Aerotech ...
