3D product CAD files of Aerotech's wide range of positioning systems and motion control equipment are now available for immediate download from the Solidworks 3D ContentCentral website.

This service uses the 3D PartStream.Net software facility to allow automation system designers to configure, view and download 3D models for use in their designs in very wide choice of CAD file formats.

Supported CAD formats include AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Autodesk Inventor Series, Pro/Engineer, Cadkey 3D, Solid Edge, Catia, SolidWorks 3D CAD, I-Deas/Master Series, Unigraphics, IronCAD, Vellum Draft, Vellum 3D and Vellum Solids.

A simple plug-in is required for the 3D preview and most Aerotech products in the extensive catalogue have configuration options allowing the designer to download the exact part required.

In addition to 3D CAD formats, JPG, TIFF and PDF files are also downloadable along with several 2D CAD formats.

The free-of-charge website also provides many other automation component suppliers' certified 3D models, as well as a novel model sharing community allowing component design sharing with multiple CAD file conversion.
