A novel software package aims to automate the processes involved in attaining and maintaining the requirements of international standards.

Adept Scientific has set up a new subsidiary, Adeptsoft, to provide business software solutions - and has announced the new company's first product offering, a compliance management system which is designed to help businesses meet regulatory standards such as ISO9001:2000, ISO14000 and occupational health and safety "Over the past 20 years, Adept Scientific has built a reputation for the highest standards of customer service and software support, underpinned by our substantial investment in systems and expertise", says Adept founder and Chairman Paul Bragg

"Our core products are increasingly being implemented as enterprise solutions, and we see a major opportunity to use our resources and infrastructure to provide and support enterprise management systems beyond our traditional technical base".

Adeptsoft is the vehicle for furthering this opportunity, and the Paradigm II compliance management software system is expected to generate wide interest among all types of business.

Paradigm II provides the tools to manage and monitor an organisation's daily processes, providing the evidence to attain and maintain accreditation to standards such as ISO9000 (quality) and ISO14000 (environmental care).

At the same time the software ensures that the business uses its corporate knowledge to maximum effect, achieves continuing process and quality improvements, and keeps risks under control.

Neil Chapman, Business Development Director at Adeptsoft, believes that a software system such as Paradigm II is fast becoming an essential requirement for best practice in business.

"Regulatory standards are a fact of life these days", he says.

"ISO9001:2000, ISO14000, ISO17025:1999 standards for laboratory test procedures, occupational health and safety, hazard management, sustainability reporting offer businesses a yardstick to measure performance, a target to achieve, an opportunity to further business success".

"This is what Paradigm II is all about".

Paradigm II automates all compliance management procedures, through a network or the web.

It offers event scheduling adaptable to any type of business or standard, a centralised notification system linked to Microsoft Office source documents, powerful performance reporting capabilities and a full audit history of activities.

It helps businesses manage, from a central location, all those everyday tasks that impact on performance - managing meeting minutes and action points, executing and tracking plans, cross-referencing reports and corrective actions, tracking projects and proposals, automating forms and records, controlling procedures and policies, integrating objectives and strategies and more.

Unlike other software systems, Paradigm II is not restricted to managing one particular standard.

It can be used and customised for just about any work management process, thus providing a software environment that a business will use increasingly as it develops.
