Swiss EDM manufacturer AGIE has unveiled three new die-sinking machines, the Agietron Exact, Impact and Advance machines, each available in two sizes and with a variety of optional features

Swiss EDM manufacturer AGIE has unveiled three new die-sinking machines to further extend its product range The new Agietron Exact, Impact and Advance machines are each available in two sizes and with a variety of optional features, offering a solution designed to optimally fulfil each customer's requirements

The Agietron Exact top of the range EDM machines have been created to provide unmatched quality in surface integrity and precision.

They offer all the advantages of the latest technology, including a dual measuring system and the ability to utilise Agievision 2, not only for efficient data input but also for optimal process planning.

The machines have automatic drop tanks with programmable bath levels and are available with a range of electrode changers allowing the use of all available electrode chucks and therefore enhancing their ability to run unmanned, over-night and at weekends.

Furthermore, additional handling equipment can be connected via clearly defined interfaces, including Robotcommand, providing additional automation capabilities.

The Agietron Impact offers a truly modular solution, providing a tailor-made die-sinking system with a host of features.

It is particularly suitable for customers looking for integrated work handling systems and moving towards automated EDM erosion cells.

Powerful software options include a path control module, simple 2D geometry programming and optimisation of electrode utilisation.

The Impact provides the ability to remotely control and supervise the sink erosion process, on-line from a PC at home or in the office, and can be integrated into CIM installations which include measuring machines, identification systems and other peripherals.

The Agietron Advance, gantry design machines, provide maximum power and versatility with a minimum footprint.

The revolutionary new design integrates machine tool, control, generator, electrode magazine and dielectric unit in one envelope, operated by a conveniently hand-held command box.

The machine frame construction in polymer-granite provides excellent thermal and mechanical stability and with travel paths of 700 x 500 mm, the machine is well suited for the precise machining of large workpieces.

The low fixed cost, plug-in and run, characteristics of the Advance makes it suitable for a wide range of machining applications.

Designed and manufactured to the highest standards, the Exact, Impact and Advance join the existing range of AGIE EDM die-sinking and wire erosion machines, providing customers with clear bottom-line benefits.

AGIE UK MD, Glynn Fletcher sums up, "We are delighted to bring to market three such innovative machines.

Naturally, they are supported by our excellent financing options, full local service and training and the complete range of AGIE branded consumables.

Once again AGIE has captured the high ground in design, construction and sheer all-round EDM capability.".
