Agie will unveil some of the latest additions to its range on Stand 5550 at MACH 2002 - the award winning Agiecut Vertex, which makes its first UK appearance, the Agietron Advance, together with the entry-level ACTSpark all supported by Agie's total EDM solution packages Launched late last year at EMO, the Agiecut Vertex is a high-performance EDM machine that breaks into areas traditionally reserved for precision grinding
The Vertex is targeted at high value, precision sectors and markets, where quality, price, performance and innovation are key.
The Vertex is truly revolutionary - overcoming previous limitations of the EDM process.
Already the winner of the prestigious iF Design Award 2002, the Vertex sets new standards in every field.
For example, its wire diameters, from 0.2mm to the microfine 0.02mm, allow the Vertex to handle ultra-fine components previously not suited to EDM.
The Vertex's Agieduo technology, can cut floor-to-floor time by 75% and gives an accuracy of less than a micron for ultra-high precision.
The Vertex then combines these features with the Agie 3D setting probe and Agievision 3 control technology to reduce set-up time and allow truly remote control via a modem link - all in an amazingly compact machine with a footprint of just 2.66m2.
Another newcomer at MACH will be the Agietron Advance die-sinking machine, which is specified with an amazing array of standard features.
The Advance's revolutionary design integrates machine tool, control, generator, electrode magazine and dielectric unit in one enclosure, operated by a conveniently hand-held command box.
Its gantry design provides immense rigidity and versatility with a minimum footprint, while the low fixed cost, 'plug-in and run' characteristics of the Advance make it suitable for a wide range of machining applications.
The machine frame construction in polymer-granite provides excellent thermal and mechanical stability and with travel paths of 700 x 500mm, the Advance is not only well suited for the precise machining of large workpieces, but can also handle small, intricate detail down to a polished finished.
For those seeking to break into high performance EDM at reduced cost, enter the ACTSpark.
The ACTSpark range is ideal for companies wishing to use EDM to break into new markets with simple, robust and reliable technology that offers first class performance without the need for substantial investment.
The no-nonsense ACTSpark SP1, which will be on show at MACH, offers three-axis CNC machining with simultaneous planetary control (orbiting), with automatic generator selection and adaption for process performance.
Managing Director Glynn Fletcher says, "These machines demonstrate the diversity and depth of Agie's EDM range.
Whatever a customer's requirements we have the EDM solution to meet their needs.
It's a business philosophy that has helped position AGIE as the leading supplier of EDM technology to the UK market.
Furthermore, as well as being at the cutting edge of EDM development, Agie delivers complete EDM solutions so customers can exploit the new possibilities created by automation and remote control technology to deliver improved performance, productivity and profit".
