Coating aids adhesion in batteries and capacitors

An Acheson Colloids product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 12, 2006

An advanced highly conductive chemical-resistant coating is designed for use on batteries and electric double layer capacitors.

Acheson Colloids Company has developed Dag EB-815, an advanced, highly conductive, chemical-resistant coating for batteries and electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs).

A one-component, solvent-based dispersion of semicolloidal graphite in a thermoset binder, Dag EB-815 delivers a tenacious coating that provides battery electrode adhesion to the current collector, optimised conductivity and durability of the energy storage device.

When properly diluted, this coating can be applied by brush or spray and cured above 260C to form an adherent coating.
