Advance-Galatrek, the UK's leading supplier of Power Protection equipment in the telecoms, IT, industrial and commercial sectors, has reached the finals of the Electrical Products Awards 2001

Advance-Galatrek, the UK's leading supplier of Power Protection equipment in the telecoms, IT, industrial and commercial sectors, has reached the finals of the Electrical Products Awards 2001, organised by Electrical Products magazine The Advance-Galatrek 5kVA Elite has been shortlisted in the Technical Innovation category of the Awards, after having appeared in an earlier issue of Electrical Products

The new Elite 5kVA Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) is part of a larger family of devices stretching from 700VA up to 5kVA.

Every model in the range provides unsurpassed levels of customisation and flexibility without cost penalties.

Featuring high spike and electrical noise attenuation, Elite can also be installed with a built in or separate Galvanic Isolation transformer, for especially sensitive hardware applications.

In these environments, the addition of Galvanic Isolation physically blocks spikes and noise from interfering with loads connected to the UPS.

Other Advance-Galatrek UPS models are also available, with capacities ranging from 300VA to 4mVA.

Models within the Elite range have been designed to work with 'make-before-break' wall mounted maintenance bypasses, allowing the UPS to be powered down for upgrade or maintenance, without interruption to the load.

The units also feature remote status panel monitoring, providing an easy indication of any changes in alarm status, through both visual and audible notification.

Elite UPS units can also take advantage of the Advance-Galatrek PowerShield UPS monitoring and control package.

Designed to integrate into most modern network operating platforms, PowerShield utilises information from the UPS to generate real-time graphs, status screens and data event logging.

Additionally, the software provides for an orderly system shutdown, configurable to the exact demands of the site and load.

PowerShield can also be activated to use Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).

All Elite UPS systems are compatible with the Advance-Galatrek LinkUPS programme, which provides for remote monitoring and control of devices installed worldwide.

LinkUPS provides 24/7 coverage, by monitoring alarm conditions and alerting locally based service engineers, using paging and GSM mobile phones.

Commenting on the shortlisting in the Electrical Products Awards 2001, Robin Koffler, Joint Managing Director of Advance-Galatrek said, 'We are delighted that our latest Elite 5kVA is a finalist in these prestigious awards.

We feel confident that, like the Electrical Products judges, buyers will be impressed by the advancements in size, weight, performance and value for money that the Elite range represents.'.
