Four members of staff from Advance-Galatrek have just passed the latest Personnel Track Safety course for Railtrack, entitling them to work on equipment located at the trackside

Four members of staff from Advance-Galatrek, the UK's leading supplier of Power Protection equipment to the rail industry, have just passed the latest Personnel Track Safety (PTS) course, provided by GTRM for Railtrack The award of the PTS accreditation further augments the Company's Railtrack supplier registrations in the IT Environmental - UPS, Lightning Conductors and Deep Earthing, Electrification (Other) and Telecomms (Other) categories

Hardware Engineer Jason Yates, and UPS Service Engineers Lee Burns and Robin Halley joined Customer Projects Manager Leo Craig in completing the training course.

Completion of the two-day Personnel Track Safety training schedule entitles the Advance-Galatrek personnel to work on equipment located at the trackside, together with third-party Railtrack sub-contractors.

This accreditation will allow Advance-Galatrek to install, maintain and upgrade UPS (Uninterruptible Power Systems), TVSS (Transient voltage Surge Suppression), DC Power Supply and Generator installations, directly serving Railtrack infrastructure throughout the UK.

Furthermore, it provides valuable confirmation that the Company's personnel are among the Power Protection industry's best trained and most highly qualified staff - essential capabilities when working on trackside operational and safety equipment.

The success of the four Advance-Galatrek staff members has been bolstered by the achievement of the same qualification for three of the Company's sub-contracted engineers.

These additional personnel, working for third-party panel manufacturers and generator suppliers to the Company also attained a pass on the PTS course, permitting them to work in conjunction with Advance-Galatrek personnel on vital Railtrack equipment.

Commenting on this latest accolade for Advance-Galatrek staff, Joint Managing Director Robin Koffler said, 'The granting of PTS accreditation for these key members of staff gives us a major advantage over our competitors, by allowing trained Advance-Galatrek personnel direct access to critical Railtrack locations.

This, in turn, will enable us to provide Railtrack with even higher standards of service in the installation, maintenance and upgrading of essential Power Protection infrastructure.'.
