Advance-Galatrek has developed a new PowerPak DC rectifier system controller, capable of remote management when partnered by the Company's latest range of DC standby power systems.
The GDC 2012NET takes its position as the flagship of the Advance-Galatrek system controller range, and can be mounted in a complete 19-inch cabinet housing up to twelve Advance-Galatrek GDC 24-100, GDC 50-75 or GDC 50-100 rectifiers.
The GDC 2012NET utilises an SNMP interface module, featuring Ethernet II, RS232 and signal contact ports to provide a highly advanced remote management capability, operating over the Internet.
In particular, this is invaluable for installations in the mobile and telecoms sectors, where equipment is often located in exposed and inconvenient places.
In these circumstances, the GDC 2012NET controller enables a number of DC power supply installations to be administered from a single remote location.
The GDC 2012NET uses an easy to operate Windows, Unix or Novell networks based graphical user interface, providing a highly flexible presentation of system criteria.
This enables remote operatives to view and configure all power system parameters, as well as providing a wide range of individual reports, plus a history mode for error analysis.
The software provides real time data on separate criteria such as DC power supply voltage, load current, DC current, battery current, AC input and even rectifier temperature.
This information is presented in the style of a virtual control panel on the controlling PC.
Additionally, the GDC 2012NET unit itself features a large LCD panel, offering measurements of voltage, AC and DC current, batteries, temperature, frequency, system status, Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) and lightning protection status.
The system controller can also provide a log of 256 separate events, including each event description and the time of the occurrence.
Full power supply information including voltage, current, temperature and fan status is also provided.
The Advance-Galatrek GDC 2012NET system controller also allows users to perform calibration of the remote power supply, including float voltage set up and boost voltage set up.
Other adjustable parameters include LVD calibration, and closing and opening of the LVD for servicing.
Manual and automatic boost can be calibrated directly from the controller, as can temperature compensation, achieved by adjusting the individual voltage per cell.
Specific power supplies can also be shut down from the controller, regardless of geographical distance.
Flowchart graphics of system elements are also provided, enabling straightforward identification of problem areas and usage.
The software used by the GDC 2012NET can be upgraded directly using TCP/IP, without the need to power down the system.
This provides vital installations with the reassurance of a continuous 24/7 power supply.
Furthermore, two separate versions of the software can be run concurrently, providing full redundancy, should an upgrade not function as expected.
