Adept provides robots for Lasx laser cutting

Adept Technology has announced its selection as Lasx Industries' robotics partner to provide robots and programming software for the company's Lasersharp Spider STP-400 laser cutting system.
The Lasersharp Spider STP-400 system will be showcased at the company's booth at Print 09 2009's, the global graphics communications show, on 11-16 September in Chicago, IL.
The system will feature the Adept Quattro robot and Adept Ace Packxpert programming software.
The Lasersharp Spider STP-400 is a fully automated conveyor laser system that is designed to offer high-quality laser cutting of complex, personalised, and variable nested shapes matching digital printing speeds.
The system is designed to read a printed barcode, identifying information for processing and stacking each finished part.
The automated system uses the Adept Quattro robot to stack and sort product and uses the Adept Ace Packxpert software to program the automation components.
The Adept Quattro robot features a four-arm rotational platform designed for maximum speed and acceleration, and performance across the entire work envelope.
The embedded amplifiers and compact controls in the Adept Quattro parallel robot make installation easy and enable saved workspace.
Designed specifically for packaging applications, the all-in-one Ace Packxpert solution enables manufacturers to respond quickly to part changes without lengthy reprogramming.
It features an intuitive graphic interface and 3D workspace display for visualising the system operation, including physical and conceptual objects.
